Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Codelifter service. By using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Effective date: April 27, 2026
Last updated: April 27, 2026
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the Codelifter service ("Service") provided by Jang Hyeok ("Company"), and define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" refers to the Chrome browser extension (Codelifter), the related website (codelifter.vercel.app), and all auxiliary functions including conversion history, payment, and user authentication.
- "User" means an individual or legal entity who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- "BYOK" stands for "Bring Your Own Key" — a usage model where the user provides their own Anthropic API key directly to access AI conversion.
- "Pro Subscription" means the paid plan offered as a recurring monthly payment.
Article 3 (Effect and Modification of Terms)
These Terms apply to all users of the Service. The Company may modify these Terms when necessary, and changes will be announced in advance via the Service interface or email.
Changes will be announced at least 7 days before the effective date, or 30 days in advance if the change is unfavorable to users. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Article 4 (Eligibility)
The Service is available to users aged 14 or older. Users under 14 may not use the Service; if the Company verifies a user is under 14, access may be restricted immediately.
Users may use the Service after completing the registration procedure. Anonymous use is permitted for limited features, but membership is required for conversion history, Pro Subscription, and payment.
Article 5 (User Obligations)
- Users must provide accurate information at registration and update it promptly when changes occur.
- Users are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials and BYOK API keys, and may not transfer or share them with third parties.
- Users must ensure that content extracted via the Service does not infringe the copyright, trademark, or other rights of third parties. The user bears responsibility for the use of extraction results.
- Users must not interfere with the stable operation of the Service (automated bots, abnormal API calls, excessive traffic, etc.).
Article 6 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in any of the following:
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code from the Service
- Infringing the intellectual property rights of the Company or third parties
- Misappropriating another user's account, BYOK keys, or payment methods
- Converting or distributing illegal, obscene, or defamatory content through the Service
- Maliciously exploiting security vulnerabilities of the Service
- Abusive practices to bypass quotas, including anonymous identifier or IP rotation
Article 7 (Intellectual Property)
All rights to the Service itself and its components (code, UI, design, logos, domain, etc.) belong to the Company.
Ownership of the code generated by the Service belongs to the user. However, results may only be used in ways that do not infringe third-party rights.
The user holds the Company harmless for any output of the Service, and assumes all legal responsibility arising from the use of such output.
Article 8 (Pro Subscription and Payment)
Pro Subscription ($9/month) operates on a recurring monthly auto-renewal basis. Lifetime access is available for a one-time payment of $99. Payments are securely processed through Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record); the Company does not store credit card numbers or other payment information.
Refunds: ① Full refund within 7 days of payment if the service has not been used (right of withdrawal under Article 17(1) of the Korean Consumer Protection in E-Commerce Act). ② Once usage begins or 7 days have passed, the right of withdrawal is restricted and partial refunds for remaining periods are not provided (Article 17(2)(5)). ③ Full refund regardless of usage period in case of Company fault. Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy per their refund policy. See the Refund Policy page for full details.
Auto-renewal cancellation: To avoid the next charge, use the "Manage subscription" link in your Lemon Squeezy payment confirmation email, or contact jh0580jh@tididig.com. Charges already processed are subject to the refund policy above.
Refund and cancellation inquiries: jh0580jh@tididig.com. For full procedure and EU consumer protection details, please refer to the Payment & Refund section of the Business Information page.
When using BYOK, the user bears the cost of their own Anthropic API key usage. The Company's monthly conversion quota applies equally regardless of BYOK status.
Article 9 (Service Modification and Suspension)
The Company may modify or temporarily suspend the Service for service improvement, security, or operational needs.
Planned suspensions will be announced at least 7 days in advance. However, in cases of urgent security issues or outages of external dependencies (Anthropic, HuggingFace, Vercel, Supabase, etc.), notice may be given after the fact.
The Company is not liable for direct or indirect damages caused by service suspension, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
Article 10 (Limitation of Liability)
The Company does not warrant the conversion results (accuracy, suitability, or quality of generated code). Results depend on AI model output, and users must review them before use.
The Company is not liable for: (1) damages caused by user negligence, (2) failures or policy changes of third-party services (AI models, payment gateways, cloud infrastructure), (3) force majeure such as natural disasters, power outages, or communication failures, (4) disputes arising from commercialization of conversion results.
The Company's liability for damages is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to the total subscription fees paid by the user to the Company in the preceding 12 months.
Article 11 (Privacy)
Details on the personal information collected during use of the Service, the purposes of use, retention period, third-party disclosures, and user rights are governed by a separate Privacy Policy.
Article 12 (Dispute Resolution and Governing Law)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes between the Company and users will be brought before the court with jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business.
EU residents may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). The Company is not obliged or willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
